A Cross Country Halloween Party!

I drew a web with sour cream on the taco dip.

Blossom #4 joined the party fun!

Blossom #1 is a bunch of grapes.

The girls played charades, pictionary, carved pumpkins and ate tacos with all the toppings and Pioneer Woman brownies!

Have a great day!

They Just Don't Make Them Like They Used To!

I love watching movies, especially while I'm walking on the treadmill in the morning.  And, like today, while I'm doing a little sewing.  Like my title said, they just don't make the movies today as well as they used to... this movie is a prime example.  It, of course, had my two favorites... suspense and romance.  And, just so you know, I usually don't like Marilyn Monroe movies, but she was perfect in this one and the rest of the cast were great too!

Have a great day!

Black Widow

I was expecting this old movie to be more like the modern version of the Black Widow, but it was not.  Suspense and romance made this a great movie to watch on the treadmill this morning.  Starring:  Ginger Rogers, Van Heflin, Gene Tierney and George Raft.  I really enjoyed it!

I'm Crazy About This Guy!

This is Blossom # 2.  He is smart, handsome, hard-working, thoughtful, polite, athletic and ALWAYS hungry!

Blossom #2 just finished Cross Country.  It was a rough season because his feet have been having problems ever since Track.

Even though his feet have been bothering him, he still had a good season and his last race was the best!

He won first place in the Middle School Conference race!

Have a great day!

One Person's Trash Is Our Treasure!

We found this cat in our grove last April.  He was covered in burrs and dried poop.  After cleaning him up, we discovered that he was declawed in the front, so we kept him in the house while we tried to find his owner.

We all fell in love with him!  But, we know why he probably was dumped in the country... he threw up gross hair balls!

Nothing in our house is too precious, so there's not too much damage a hair ball can do around here.

After we decided to keep him, we put him on an indoor cat food diet and he doesn't throw up hair balls anymore.  And, the crazy thing is, he loves going outside too, so he does most of his business outside instead of the litter box.

We named this treasure of a cat Semor.  Blossom #1 picked this name from the show That Girl.  Seymour is Ann Marie's agent on the show and Blossom #1 thought that it would be a great cat name.

Have a great day!

My Playlist!

There was a blog I liked to read and then listen to the Playlist music all day long.  The blogger decided to take a break from blogging and then her blog closed down.  I missed her blog and music.  Yesterday I realized that she had re-opened her blog to say a final good-bye and so I took the opportunity to add her songs to my Playlist.  I missed her music and I am thrilled to have her songs on my Playlist now.  Every now and then, I am going to go in and mix it up a little to try and get the right flow.  But, for now, I am so excited to hear those familiar songs mixed in with the ones I picked out for myself!

Have a great day!

The Wedding

The handsome groom and beautiful bride!

Stylish Blossom #4

Blossom #2 is as tall as my sister now!

Blossoms #3 and #4 and their cousins found some dress-up clothes somewhere in the reception building and paraded around!

And, doesn't Blossom #4 look adorable in her purple boots from my sister!?!

Confirmation Sunday

Sunday was a special day for Blossom #2.  It was his confirmation day at church.  After his confirmation, we went home and had his requested dinner of steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, homemade bread and apple crisp with ice cream for dessert. Actually, he didn't really request the green beans, but we needed a vegetable - right?!?  I also made a Gorgonzola sauce for the mashed potatoes that was de-lish!  We had a few gifts too: money, a Nerf football and a book about the people in the bible.  (He needed a new Nerf football since the dog chewed up his old one.)  It was a nice family day.

Have a great day!

Strangers on a Train

Every morning when I get up, I hit the treadmill for some exercise.  And, to make my exercise time a little more enjoyable, I watch dvds.  My routine is to order dvds through our local library system, which allows me access to dvds in other libraries, as well as my own.  I don't watch all of the dvds because once they arrive at the library they don't look interesting, others I watch for only 10 minutes... if the movie hasn't captured my attention after 10 minutes, I move on to another dvd.  So, anyway, I'm not sure why I liked this movie, but it may have been that I had already started watching 2 dvds prior to this one that didn't make the 10 minute cut and this one finally took my mind off the treadmill.  I ended up watching all of Alfred Hitchcock's Strangers on the Train and thought this is a great creepy movie for the month of October.  Yes, there is murder.  Yes, there is romance.  No, it's not in colorI would say that for a person that likes suspense without gore, this would be an enjoyable movie.   There is a remake of this movie called Once You Kiss A Stranger - I think I may have to check it out.

Have a great day!

Giving Up Wine!

This is by far my favorite email that was being sent around about 2 years ago!

I was walking down the street when I was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless woman who asked me for a couple of dollars for dinner.

I took out my wallet, got out ten dollars and asked, 'If I give you this money, will you buy wine with it instead of dinner?'

'No, I had to stop drinking years ago', the homeless woman told me.

'Will you use it to go shopping instead of buying food?' I asked.

'No, I don't waste time shopping,' the homeless woman said. 'I need to spend all my time trying to stay alive.'

'Will you spend this on a beauty salon instead of food?' I asked.

'Are you NUTS!' replied the homeless woman. I haven't had my hair done in 20 years!'

'Well, I said, 'I'm not going to give you the money. Instead, I'm going to take you out for dinner with my husband and me tonight.'

The homeless Woman was shocked. 'Won't your husband be furious with you for doing that? I know I'm dirty, and I probably smell pretty disgusting.'

I said, 'That's okay. It's important for him to see what a woman looks like after she has given up shopping, hair appointments, and wine.'

Have a great day!

William Holden (2) - Man From Colorado

I liked this movie.  William Holden is a very flexible actor.  In the last movie, he played a "starving" Hollywood writer. In t...
